American Idol is returning for Season 21 in February, and the show has a new promo teasing the judges’ time in Las Vegas as they search for this year’s winner. Katy Perry, Lionel Richie, and Luke Bryan all appear in the new clip, as well as host Ryan Seacrest.
Perry shared the new promo on her Instagram account, writing that the show is “celebrating a 21st bday the only way we know how.” She reminded fans to mark their calendars for the show’s season premiere on February 19.
The promo starts with a neon sign for “Sin City,” which turns into “Sing City.” Perry appears alongside her fellow judges in a sparkly silver dress as they play a slot machine that shows their faces. Each of the judges says “Yes!” before the machine releases a shower of Golden Tickets.
“Who will win big and be the next American Idol?” Seacrest asks as Perry jumps to catch one of the tickets. The host informs fans of the Season 21 release date, as the show will return on ABC for the sixth year in a row.

What to Expect from the New Season
The American Idol Season 21 premiere date was announced in November, as the show teased that the judges would be in Sin City. The panel reunited in Vegas last September to begin filming auditions for the new season.
In November, fans had a chance to vote for a Platinum Ticket winner ahead of the season premiere. They listened to three audition performances before choosing Elijah McCormick as the winner. Elijah thanked America for their votes, writing, “I won’t let you guys down.”
According to leaked spoilers about the upcoming season, several The Voice alums auditioned for the show this year. We can’t wait to watch all of the auditions when American Idol returns Sunday, February 19, on ABC.
